INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE - "Mental Health: the Importance of Cooperation between Sectors".

 


On 10 October 2013, Caritas organized an international conference on the topic "Mental health - the importance of cooperation between the sectors" at Hotel Aurel in Podgorica. One of the goals of the "OPEN MIND" is to establish and promote cooperation between the health and social sectors, as well as government and NGO sector, in the field of mental health.

The conference is organized with the aim of reviewing past experiences and the current level of cooperation between the sectors in the field of mental health. In addition, the conference enabled the transfer of best practices and experiences from the European Union, especially in Italy, in co-operation between sectors in the field of mental health. The conference was addressed by experts from Montenegro, as well as guests from Italy: Msgr. Zef Gashi - Archbishop of Bar, President of Caritas BN, Dr. Larisa Redžepagić from the Ministry of Health, then Mrs. Irma Kalac in front of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, Maurizio Camin President of Associazione di Trentino con Balcani, Mrs. Mina Brajović representative of the World Health Organization, and Dr. Olivera Vulic from the health center Podgorica. The audience was also addressed by Martina Tomasi - technician for psychiatric rehabilitation from Trento, then Jovo Đedović from the Special Psychiatric Hospital Kotor, and Dr. Paolo Serra - psychiatrist and a consultant for Caritas Italy.

Representatives of partner organizations involved in the project from Bar, Kotor, Podgorica and Niksic were also present.
